I was able to get away with: stop slave; reset slave; CHANGE MASTER TO MASTER_LOG_POS=98 , MASTER_LOG_FILE = 'mysqld-bin.000401'; start slave; the values came from running SHOW SLAVE STATUS\G before resetting :) This helped a lot. I was able to get away with:
stop slave; reset slave;
CHANGE MASTER TO MASTER_LOG_POS=98 , MASTER_LOG_FILE = ‘mysqld-bin.000401′;
start slave;

the values came from running
SHOW SLAVE STATUS\G
